Lux Perpetua Operated by 618 Digital, Inc. 4716 Brittany Ct., Granite City, IL 62040
Last updated: March 2026
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of luxperpetua.net ("the Platform"), operated by 618 Digital, Inc. ("618 Digital," "we," "us," or "our"), an Illinois corporation. By accessing or using the Platform, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the Platform.
1. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years of age to create an account on the Platform. By creating an account, you represent and warrant that you are 18 years of age or older.
Persons between the ages of 13 and 17 may access the Platform only as household members under a parent or guardian's account, subject to the parental consent provisions described in Section 5. Persons under the age of 13 may not access the Platform under any circumstances.
We reserve the right to terminate any account found to belong to a user under 18 and to delete all associated data within 30 days of discovery.
2. Accounts and Authentication
Account creation: To access content beyond the first three chapters of The Living Thread, you must provide your first name and email address. To subscribe to paid tiers, you must provide additional information as described in our Privacy Policy.
The Seal: The Platform uses a passwordless authentication system called The Seal. When you request access, we send a seven-digit code to your email address. This code expires at midnight Central time on the day it is issued. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your email account, as it is the means by which you access the Platform.
Account responsibility: You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account. You agree to notify us immediately at record@luxperpetua.net if you believe your account has been compromised.
One account per person: You may not create multiple accounts. If we discover that you have created multiple accounts, we reserve the right to terminate all but one of them.
3. Subscriptions and Payment
Subscription tiers: The Platform offers three paid subscription tiers - The Keeper ($44/year), The Custodian ($88/year), and The Seventy-Two ($288/year) - as described on the subscription page. Tier features, pricing, and availability are subject to change with reasonable notice to existing subscribers.
Billing: Subscriptions are billed annually. By subscribing, you authorize 618 Digital to charge your payment method on file for the annual subscription fee at the beginning of each subscription term. Payment is processed by Stripe. We do not store your payment credentials.
Automatic renewal: Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each annual term unless cancelled. We will send a renewal reminder to your email address at least seven days before your renewal date.
Cancellation: You may cancel your subscription at any time through your account page or by contacting record@luxperpetua.net. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing term. We do not offer refunds for partial subscription terms, except as required by applicable law.
Upgrades: You may upgrade your subscription tier at any time. When you upgrade, you will receive a prorated credit for the unused portion of your current subscription term, which will be applied toward the cost of the new tier. Your new annual term begins on the date of upgrade.
The Seventy-Two cap: The Seventy-Two tier is limited to 72 active subscriptions at any time. If the tier is full when you attempt to subscribe, you will be offered the opportunity to join a waitlist. Waitlist members will be notified when a spot becomes available and will have 48 hours to claim it.
Household physical add-on: Seventy-Two subscribers may add additional household copies of physical materials at $108/year per additional member, up to a maximum of five additional copies. All physical materials ship to the primary subscriber's address.
Failed payments: If a payment fails, we will notify you by email and provide a seven-day grace period during which your access continues while you update your payment information. If payment is not resolved within seven days, your subscription will be suspended until payment is received.
4. Content and Intellectual Property
Our content: All content on the Platform - including but not limited to the text of Ordo: A Chronicle of Lux Perpetua, all chapter text in The Living Thread and The Lost Crown, all visual assets, the platform design, and all associated creative materials - is the property of Michael Halbrook and/or 618 Digital, Inc. and is protected by United States and international copyright law.
License to you: Your subscription grants you a personal, non-transferable, non-exclusive license to access and read the content on the Platform for your personal, non-commercial use. This license does not permit you to reproduce, distribute, publicly display, create derivative works from, or otherwise exploit any content from the Platform without our prior written consent.
Sharing: You may share links to free chapters of The Living Thread (Chapters 1 through 3) freely. You may not share, post, or distribute the text of gated chapters or Lost Crown chapters in any form without our prior written consent.
Your content: When you post in community forums, you grant 618 Digital a non-exclusive, royalty-free, perpetual license to display, preserve, and archive your forum contributions as part of the Platform's permanent record. You retain ownership of your forum contributions. You represent that your forum contributions are your own original work and do not infringe the rights of any third party.
Feedback: If you provide feedback, suggestions, or ideas about the Platform or the story, you grant us the right to use that feedback without compensation or attribution to you.
5. Household Members
Adding household members: Subscribers may add up to four household members to their account. Household members may access content included in the primary subscriber's tier on their own devices. Household members do not have independent accounts and their access is tied to the primary subscriber's account.
Community access: Household members do not have access to community forums, regardless of the primary subscriber's tier. Community access is available to the primary account holder only.
Household members under 18: By adding a household member under the age of 18, the primary account holder represents and warrants that they are the parent or legal guardian of that minor, consents to the minor's access to Platform content, and takes full responsibility for the appropriateness of that content for the minor.
Account lapse: If the primary subscriber's account lapses, is suspended, or is terminated, all household member access is suspended simultaneously.
6. Physical Fulfillment (The Seventy-Two)
Shipping: Physical materials - monthly perfect bound issues, annual volumes, and annual physical artifacts - are shipped to the mailing address on file for your account. It is your responsibility to keep your mailing address current. 618 Digital is not responsible for items shipped to an outdated or incorrect address.
Delivery: We will make reasonable efforts to ship monthly issues and annual volumes on schedule. Delivery times vary by location. We are not responsible for delays caused by shipping carriers or circumstances outside our control.
Annual volumes: Seventy-Two subscribers who join before October 1 of a given year will receive that year's annual volumes. Subscribers who join on or after October 1 will receive the following year's annual volumes as their first set, and will receive a PDF of the current year's complete content as a courtesy.
Damaged or missing items: If your physical materials arrive damaged or do not arrive within a reasonable time, please contact us at record@luxperpetua.net and we will make it right.
One set per subscription: Each Seventy-Two subscription includes one set of physical materials shipped to one address. Additional household copies are available at $108/year each, as described in Section 3.
7. Community Standards
The Community Covenant: Access to community forums requires agreement to the Community Covenant, which is displayed in full at luxperpetua.net/community/covenant/. The Covenant governs conduct in all community forums and is incorporated into these Terms by reference.
Prohibited conduct: In addition to the Community Covenant, you agree not to:
- Post content that is unlawful, defamatory, harassing, threatening, obscene, or pornographic
- Post content that infringes the intellectual property rights of any third party
- Impersonate any person or entity
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the Platform
- Use automated tools to scrape, crawl, or index the Platform's content
- Interfere with or disrupt the Platform or its servers
Moderation: We reserve the right to remove any community content that violates these Terms or the Community Covenant, without notice and without liability. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate community access for any subscriber who violates these Terms or the Community Covenant.
The permanent record: Forum threads are open for 33 days after a chapter publishes, then sealed into the Platform's permanent archive as read-only content. Sealed forum contributions remain visible as part of the permanent record. If you request deletion of your account, your forum contributions will be anonymized rather than deleted, preserving the integrity of the community record.

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless 618 Digital, Inc. and its officers, directors, employees, and agents from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, costs, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of or related to your use of the Platform, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any rights of a third party.
11. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Illinois, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.
Any dispute arising out of or related to these Terms or the Platform shall be resolved exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Madison County, Illinois. You consent to the personal jurisdiction of such courts and waive any objection to venue in such courts.
12. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by email and by posting a notice on the Platform at least 14 days before the changes take effect. Your continued use of the Platform after the effective date of the updated Terms constitutes your acceptance of the changes. If you do not agree to the updated Terms, you must stop using the Platform and may cancel your subscription for a prorated refund of the unused portion of your current term.
13. Termination

Upon termination, your right to access the Platform ceases immediately. Sections 4 (Content and Intellectual Property), 8 (Disclaimers), 9 (Limitation of Liability), 10 (Indemnification), and 11 (Governing Law) survive termination.
If we terminate your account for reasons other than a violation of these Terms, we will provide a prorated refund of the unused portion of your current subscription term.
14. Entire Agreement
These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy and the Community Covenant, constitute the entire agreement between you and 618 Digital, Inc. with respect to the Platform and supersede all prior agreements and understandings, whether written or oral.
